What the check looks at

The check searches Wikidata for the organization named in your schema, follows the sameAs link if you declared one, and then looks for an English Wikipedia article on the entity. A Wikidata item without an article is a warning; no record at all is a failure.

Why it matters

Wikipedia and Wikidata are among the sources AI answers draw on most, and the canonical record for "what is this company". Without an entry, a major recognition channel has nothing about you — and may conflate you with a namesake that has one.

How to see it on your own site

Search wikidata.org for your company name. If an item exists, check that its official website (P856) is your domain. Then search Wikipedia.

How to fix it

What the agent does: this is outside the site; the agent tells you whether the record exists and what the next step is — it will not write a Wikipedia article about you.

Questions people ask.

Can I create my own Wikidata item?

Yes, for an organization with verifiable public facts — Wikidata asks for references, not notability. Wikipedia is different: it needs independent sources.

Why does the check warn when Wikidata exists?

Because the article is what gets cited. A Wikidata item makes you machine-known; the article makes you quotable.
